The Blaydon Race is organised by the Blaydon Harrier and Athletics Club under United Kingdom Athletics (UKA) current Rules of Competition.

Public Liability Insurance is held by the Blaydon Harrier and Athletics Club in accordance with UKA rules.

Competitors are reminded that The Blaydon Race takes place over roads and unmade paths normally used by motor vehicle traffic and pedestrians. Competitors should be aware of the dangers associated with a road race and should take appropriate avoiding action when necessary. Competitors should be weary of potentially wet and slippery conditions.

The Blaydon Race is a competitive running race; the Race Organiser will not accept entries from those intending to walk or who wish to treat the event as a ‘fun run’.

The Race Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry to an Applicant. If this were to occur, the Race Organiser will provide the Applicant with the reason(s) as to why the application was refused.

There is a 2-hour time limit on the Race, any Competitor who has failed to finish after the time allowed must discontinue the race when instructed to do so by a Race Official.

Competitors must follow all instructions from Race Officials or uniformed Police.

The course is unsuitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. The Blaydon Race will, when reasonable to do so, make reasonable adjustments to enable participation, provided the Race Organiser receives notice from the Applicant when applying to compete. Notice can be given via the contact form on the website. Refer to our Access Policy Statement which can be found HERE.

Pets may not accompany Competitors during the Race and may not enter the course.

All competitors must adjudge themselves both physically and mentally capable of completing the Race before starting and must withdraw if they are unwell.

Competitors requiring a replacement race pack will incur a charge of up to £6, payable in advance.

The Blaydon Race will comply with its Duties under GDPR and will only process and retain personal or sensitive Data justified under the terms of the Regulations.
Terms and Conditions

By accepting these Local Rules, Terms and Conditions, the Competitor acknowledges and agrees to The Blaydon Race’s; Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Photography Policy and Access Policy. These policies are available to view HERE.

The Race is open to Competitors of 16 years of age and above (on the day of the Race).

The Race Organiser reserves the right to make changes and clarifications to the Race without prior notice to Competitors. The Race Organiser will endeavour to warn Competitors of any change prior to the Race. Changes are binding upon all Competitors.

All Race Competitors are bound by the Race Organiser’s interpretation and resultant decisions of The Blaydon Race Local Rules, Terms and Conditions.

Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. In the event that the Race is cancelled the Race Organiser is not responsible for any costs incurred by the Competitor.

The Blaydon Race accepts no liability for injury, harm, loss, or costs which may arise as the result of participating in The Blaydon Race.

Failure to follow Race rules or a Race Official’s instructions will result in disqualification, loss of prize money and removal from official results.

Violation of the Race Rules or these Terms and Conditions will result in disqualification for this or future events under the control of The Blaydon Race.

The decision of the Race Organiser is final.
