Our team is happy to help with any questions you have regarding The Blaydon Race and your entry. Contact us using the form below and we will be in touch as soon as possible. Please remember that we are all volunteers.

  • Where do the buses DROP OFF runners BEFORE and AFTER the race?
    Buses will drop runners off on South Shore Road, Gateshead. A short walk over the Millennium Bridge takes you to the Start Area, marshals will be on hand to assist runners.
  • Where do the buses PICK UP runners from BEFORE and AFTER the race?
    You can catch the bus from Blaydon Leisure Centre which will take you to the Start Area, marshals will be on hand to assist runners onto the busses. There is NO parking available at Blaydon Leisure Centre for participants.
  • How do I add a bus ticket to my entry?
    We have taken the decision to provide buses, free to our competitors, this minimises parking and traffic flow in Blaydon town. Buses are included in every race entry.
  • Can I now change my t-shirt size, food option or start zone?
    No.
  • When will I receive my race number?
    You should receive your number in the post no later than the 7th May 2024. If you haven't received it by then please use the contact form on our website and include your address and DOB.
  • What if I can't find my number on the day?
    Proceed to the Race Information Point on the Newcastle Quayside which will be open between 16:30 and 17:30 on the 9th June 2024.
  • How do I transfer my number to another runner?
    Transfers need to be initiated by the transferee, to do this go to your Participant Dashboard. Transfers will be enabled until Midnight on the 22/03/2024. A second transfer window will open between 01/05/2024 and 31/05/2024. During the second transfer window, it will become the runners responsibility to obtain the race number from the original registrant.
  • I am no longer able to run, can I transfer my number to another runner?
    Yes, there will be an official channel by which you can do this. Access your Participant Dashboard using the link on the Registration page, complete and submit the form. It is crucial you use this official channel so we can capture the new emergency contact details, and ensure our numerous prize categories are not skewed.
  • How much will it cost to transfer my number to another runner?
    There will be no cost, but you must use our official process to complete the transfer. It is crucial you use this official channel so we can capture the new emergency contact details, and ensure our age and location prize categories are not skewed.
  • Can I leave a bag at the Finish?
    Yes, attach the perforated strip from your race number to your bag and pass it to volunteers at the Bag Collection Zone on the Finish Fields. Your bag will be available for collection on the Finish Fields after the race. Bags will be subject to a random search; BHAC is not liable for any lost or stolen bags.
  • Can I leave a bag at the Start?
    Yes, attach the perforated strip from your race number to your bag and pass it to volunteers at the Bag Drop Zone at the Start. Your bag will be available for collection on the Finish Fields after the race. Bags will be subject to a random search; BHAC is not liable for any lost or stolen bags.
  • Can I defer my entry to next year?
    Unfortunately not. This is because of the costs already incurred by us. You can, however, transfer your number to another runner. Take a look at the Transfer FAQs for information.
  • When will entries open for The Blaydon Race 2025?
    Entries for The Blaydon Race 2024 will be available in early 2025, take a look on our Registration page and sign up for Race Updates at the bottom our website.
